New pin tuck cushions
I’ve been learning something new…
I came across these retro cushions recently and thought I’d have a go at making them myself. A few drafts went in the bin and there was alot of stabbing myself with the needle and the odd bit of swearing, but in the end I got there. And I’m so happy with the results.

They take alot of work, as the smocking technique needs to be measured and drawn out first. Then the pin tuck technique is all done by hand.

Then the cushion cover needs to be pulled, pleated and gathered around the cushion pad. Lastly the matching button is added on both sides to tie it all in.

A new toy was purchased to make the matching velvet buttons by the way, which I’m thrilled with (who knew I’d get excited by a machine like this!!)

Stock levels are minimal as it depends what fabric off-cuts I’ve got at the time. But current availability is below. Keep an eye on my social media pages, as new ones will be added all the time.
what do you think?
