Client spotlight – Dormy House Hotel

This month, I’m taking a look at one of my clients, Dormy House Hotel.  They describe themselves as “Farmhouse Chic in The Cotswolds” .  They are an award winning luxury hotel set in the countryside just outside the picturesque village of Broadway. 

They are a family owned business and their Danish family influence can be seen throughout the hotel with their beautiful decoration and tasteful accessories and hygge touches.

Take a closer look at their logo and there’s an owl there perched above the room keys.  The brief was to make some handmade accessories to fit with their logo, their hygge feel and style.  This logo has led to a fantastic relationship in bringing their brand to life.  Over the years I’ve made hundreds of owls for them, including:

• owl door hangings which are given to children who stay there
• owl tea cosies keeping the teapots warm at breakfast
• mini owls as reserved signs in the restaurants
• owl doorstops which are used as ‘do not disturb’ signs
• owl hot water bottles used as special gifts

We have developed a great relationship with Sarah over the past few years and we (and our guests) absolutely love all the products that she makes for us. She is always on hand to help with any extras that we ask her for and has a quick turnaround time. The products perfectly match our brand with the hints of humour that Sarah adds in.

Guests love the little owl touches and are always asking where they can get their own.  This has led to me making extra stock, and they are now available for sale at the hotel reception.

And of course, like all my creations, everything is made from fabric off-cuts that would otherwise end up in landfill.  So the ethical and sustainability box is ticked.
