Get saving all those toilet rolls! Here’s my round up of some amazing craft ideas to keep the little ones occupied – all using the toilet roll.
If you have some ideas, get in touch and I’ll keep this page updated. I’ll also be adding ideas I come across to my Instagram page stories ‘Toilet Roll Crafts’
Over the coming weeks, I’ll also be adding my own upcylcing ideas and projects to try at home – you can view the latest here >>> Upcycle Projects
1. Bird Feeder
This is so simple. Cover your toilet roll in peanut butter and then roll in bird seed. Thread onto a tree branch or thread some string through to make a hanger. Sit back and enjoy the birds visiting your feeding station.
2. Binoculars
Well, you’re going to need a pair of binoculars to see all those birds on your bird feeder! The ‘Chirping Mums’ has an easy step by step guide.
3. Super Hero Cuffs
Well these will finish off your dress-up outfit a treat. There’s a step by step guide on how to make these two here. If you don’t have coloured card, you could always draw the motifs instead.
4. Bracelets
Similar to the cuffs, but make them say, half the size, and decorate with wool, buttons, beads, and glitter. Molly Moo Crafts shows you how to make these wool versions.
5. Animals & Creatures
There are loads of ideas of how to turn your rolls into a collection of zoo animals, mythical creatures or dinosaurs etc. Little ones could then make up stories with them or even put on a show! More ideas on my Pinterest board.
6. Rockets & Cars
Buttons and bottle tops make great car wheels. Or checkout Kids Activities blog for a step by step guide to make this rocket.
7. Painting
Cardboard rolls make great stencils. Dip the end in paint to make circles, hearts or bunnies like the example below.
8. Storage
I love this idea but I can’t find the credit or who made it. But by cutting out the ear shape and glueing to a base they make very cute storage for your crayons.
9. Gift Boxes
Fold the ends over on the tubes and decorate as you like – buttons, beads, glitter or colour them in. Add ribbon, string to tie them like a parcel.
10. Games
This is the ultimate. There’s a craft activity to be had, plus you get a game out of it at the end. Double win!!! I’ve seen ideas for marble maze, skittles and hoopla. Or this idea from Studio Stila is great – link to the guide to make this is> (opens in a new tab)”> here >>
